THE TURBAN PROJECT

In the summer of 2000 (July 20, to be exact), my maternal gma passed away.  She had pancreatic cancer, and even though she wasn't able to take chemotherapy for it by the time it was discovered, we thought that there should be something for women who are undergoing chemotherapy that lose their hair.  My mom is active in the WMU (Women's Missionary Union) and she receives a magazine called Mosaic...in this magazine there was an article about some women who were making turbans for this purpose.  Her group decided to start the Bernice Hill Turban Project, and so here we are.  To date we've made several hundred of them, they are found in cancer treatment center waiting areas in Southern Illinois.

If you are interested in receiving a turban, please email me.
